Biography of Charito Vataga Helgason

Charito is a female artist born in Vientiane, Laos to parents of Vietnamese and Filipino decent. She has lived in Hong Kong for over 30 years and has worked as a musician around Asia.

Her nickname is Kimmi and she started drawing in pastels as a youngster and then advanced to painting in oil in 2004. Self taught, she has been inspired by artists like Alongkorn Poochamchart who leads a field of fresh contemporary abstract artists.

Recently, figures have played an important role in her work as she searches for fresh ways to demonstrate her innate skills.

Born in Miami, U.S.A., Ivy graduated with a degree in Multimedia, Design & Advertising. She is a multi-faceted artist who is at home with corporate identity design, product design and advertising but enjoys oil painting, photography, sound design, sculpture and fashion.

She has worked or collaborated with people like Titi Kwan in Paris. H.R. Giger is one of her favourite artists and she has a bevy of awards, scholarships and prizes to her credit.
